Fort Greene: Brooklyn’s Newest Flea Market

Bookmark and Share

Bryan, one of the wizards on the tech team at RDNY.com, let me know about the inaugural Brooklyn Flea Market held on Sunday, April 6 in Fort Greene:flea.jpg

The Brooklyn Flea Market that the Brownstoner started last weekend was BIG. My girlfriend did more business selling her custom jewelry in 7 hours than she usually does in a month.

There was a mass of people there all day… packed in a happy Carnival-like mood. All hipster-infested.

Bryan should know from hipsters — he’s one himself. He just came back from doing a few video projects in LA. He lives in Bedford Stuyvesant and is always telling us about the lovely brownstones in his neighborhood. I hope he’ll write about his neighborhood for the blog soon.

The Flea Market will be held every Sunday 10am to 5pm in the schoolyard at the Bishop Loughlin Memorial High School at 176 Lafayette Avenue. It’s 2 blocks from the G train station at Clinton Aves — exit on the SW corner. The C at Lafayette Ave and the G at Fulton St are also handy.
